The MIC does his very best to avoid “SCA time” – please plan accordingly. Sign-ups for each tournament will end 10 minutes before the tournament begins.

*The A-Game and Pickups will resume immediately after Court ends on the rapier list, which may be before (or shortly after) 11am. If Court doesn’t begin until 10:45, A-Game may begin closer to 10:30.

A-Game Tournament

This is open to all comers. It will be a pooled round robin advancing 2 from each of the 4 pools, with a single elimination for the final pool.

Up-And-Comers Tournament

Come and display your prowess before the watching Bronze Rings and Masters of Defense. Open to all rapier combatants who have not received a grant-level fencing award or higher. The format will be determined by the number of entrants. Graciously being run by Warder Cecily O’Donell.

Novice Tournament

Format will be determined by the number of entrants. This tournament is open to anyone who has not yet won a fencing tournament within the SCA and on their own honor still considers themselves to be a novice fencer. Graciously being run by Warder Gwynneth Verch Ieuan.

C&T Tournament

This tournament is open to all comers authorized in and equipped for Cut and Thrust rapier. This will be an “Armor as Worn” tournament.

Rigid metal armor in period construction is impervious.

Period-looking riveted mail over a gambeson is proof against cuts but a thrust will penetrate if delivered in a manner that demonstrates the fencer’s ability to put additional force behind the thrust. Basically, little taps delivered at the edge of measure do not count. Lamellar, brigandine, and similar armor counts as riveted mail.

Modern materials like fencing masks, perf plate, ringmesh, etc. are for safety only and do not count as armor. Standard C&T calibration and rules apply. Graciously run by Masters Adhamh MacAoidh and Kai Tseng

Slamdownfest

A set of center-stage exhibition fencing matches. Come on out, enjoy the fun and spectacle, and help raise some money for the Pennsic Rapier Fund. Graciously being run by Warder Raphael di Merisi.
